Adventures while souping

Soup exchange needs three things: soup, friends and a venue.

Last soup exchange, we had the first two. But a venue was a bit harder to find...

Annie, her friend Andrew, myself and Nicky met at The Lincoln, in Carlton. But it was closed due to a function. What to do?

So we wandered down the dark quiet streets seeking the comforts of a warm pub.

Aha! Spotted! A pub. We approached, and through the door Nicky asked "Are you open?"

"Sorry we're closed for renovations" said the publican.

Foiled!

And so on we wandered. Over hill, under dale, etc etc.

A third pub was spotted. Would we have any luck this time?

Yes, it was open!

And quiet. Except for the roadies setting up for the metal gig that night. And the quiet, yet easy-going bartender.

Check it out: Demonium, Malice's Wake, Annihilation and Abrasion - all on the one gig!

Definitely a unique venue for 4 friends to swap soup in. Particularly since none of us had a black t-shirt on, and not a tattoo between us. Just discussion of osso bucco and thai prawn soup. And explaining how this whole soup exchange thing worked to Andrew and Nicky.

We didn't stay for the gig.

Any takers?

Did you buy one of these in the end Annie?

A soup spirit. Maybe.
